Shannon Watson, OT/L

Shannon Watson is a state and nationally licensed Occupational Therapist.  She specializes in the assessment and treatment of adults with neurological disorders or injuries and how the underlying impairments impact higher level independent living skills.  As a contract occupational therapist, Mrs. Watson has acquired extensive experience working across the country with adults and children in multiple settings within the continuum of care: hospitals, rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics, day treatment centers, home environments, and community settings.  In adjunct to individual treatment, Mrs. Watson has conducted self-awareness groups, work skills groups, functional living skills groups, stress management instruction, and assertion skills training to accelerate functional outcomes.  Since making Arizona her permanent residence, Mrs. Watson has established her private practice with AzN and also contracts her services to rehabilitation facilities in the Valley to assist clients in their efforts towards functional independence at home and in their communities.


Mrs. Watson received her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy with a minor in Psychology from University of North Dakota in 1991.  She completed her fieldwork in inpatient rehabilitation in Minneapolis, MN and in psychology in St. Paul, MN.  With continuing education, Mrs. Watson has obtained a certification in Neuro-Developmental Treatment approach with adult hemiplegia and certification in Functional Capacity Evaluation.
