At Arizona Neurorehabilitation (AzN), we begin each client’s journey with a comprehensive, interdisciplinary evaluation tailored to individuals recovering from brain injuries or other neurological conditions. This assessment phase is essential to understanding each client’s strengths, challenges, and potential for recovery.
Over two weeks, clients engage in structured assessments across multiple disciplines. Depending on the specific evaluation needs, sessions may range from two to eight hours per discipline. These assessments examine cognitive and functional abilities in depth.
Each discipline produces a detailed section in the final interdisciplinary report. The report concludes with an integrated Recommendations section that outlines both individualized and shared treatment goals. A full neuropsychological evaluation is included unless one has been completed within the past year, in which case a clinical interview and brief neuropsychological screen are conducted.
At the end of the assessment period, a collaborative feedback session is held with the client, their family, the referring Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor or case manager, and all members of the AzN treatment team. Each discipline presents findings and recommendations to ensure clarity, alignment, and shared understanding.
Clients who are determined to benefit from ongoing services may transition into AzN’s intensive neurorehabilitation program. Participation requires attending in-office services 2-4 days per week between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Public transportation training is available as part of the treatment services.
In the first two months, most clients receive between 10 to 15 hours of direct therapy contact per week, based on their individualized plan. Treatment may include both one-on-one and group therapy sessions, with clients encouraged to interact and engage with peers and therapists collaboratively.
Family or friends' involvement is a key component of the program. Family or friends' members are asked to meet with or communicate with the AzN staff to stay informed and aligned with the client’s goals and progress.
